Permanent Residence

Permanent Residence

A person who immigrated to Canada and received permanent residence status is known as a Canadian permanent resident.

Federal Skilled Worker Program FSWP

The Federal Skilled Worker Program is one of the three programs under the Express Entry system. Based on their work experience, language skills, and other factors, skilled workers may choose to apply for permanent residence in Canada under this program. Skilled workers are chosen as permanent residents based on their education, work experience, English/French language skills, and other factors. If you score 67 or higher (out of 100), you may qualify to immigrate to Canada as a federal skilled worker.

Canada Experience Class

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is a category for permanent residents for people who have already made a name for themselves as skilled workers in Canada. For international students and workers, the CEC programme provides access to Canada. The Canadian Experience Class may offer overseas graduates the quickest route to obtaining permanent residency in Canada. The CEC wants to boost the supply of skilled workers in Canada as one of its goals.

Provincial Nominee Programs

Applicants of the Provincial Nominee Program have the necessary skills, education and work experience for the province or region that nominates them. They are ready to successfully establish themselves as permanent residents in Canada and make immediate economic contributions to the province that designated them. Most provinces will require a relationship with the province or a job offer from a business in that province.

Spousal Sponsorship Program

A Canadian citizen or permanent resident must sponsor the spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner who wishes to immigrate to Canada under the spousal sponsorship category. If you sought to sponsor a spouse outside of Canada, the Canadian immigration authorities will give the applicant a Canada Spouse Visa (a confirmation of permanent residence) if a decision is made and the sponsorship application is granted. When the applicant (person being sponsored) arrives in Canada, they will be granted permanent residency; however, they must visit the country before the temporary visa’s expiration date.

The Canadian Experience Class Program under the Express Entry is structured towards paving a path for permanent residency for temporary foreign workers and foreign graduates from Canadian Universities.

The Federal Skilled Trades Program is the only program available under federal economic immigration for tradespersons. Canada has a widespread labor shortage, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program is a promising pathway to Permanent Residence for such candidates.
