Federal Skilled Workers Program
FSW uses a six-factor grid at the eligibility stage, then Express Entry CRS for invitations. We verify you truly pass the grid before you invest in tests and ECAs.
Overview
Federal Skilled Worker at a glance
FSW is designed for skilled workers with foreign experience who can integrate economically. It uses a points grid distinct from the CRS — both matter at different stages.
Skilled work definition
Work must be paid, continuous, and in TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 for at least one year within the last ten years. Job duties, not job title, determine NOC fit.
Proof of funds
Unless you are authorized to work in Canada and have a valid job offer, you must show liquid funds you can access for settlement. Cryptocurrency and illiquid assets usually do not count.
How we can help
Grid math
Language, education, work, age, arranged employment, and adaptability — we document each factor cleanly.
Proof of funds
We align bank history with IRCC minimums and explain large deposits officers may question.
Work references
Duties must match NOC TEER; titles alone are not enough.

Frequently asked questions
Is FSW the same as Express Entry?
FSW is one program managed under Express Entry. You still need CRS competitiveness for an ITA in most cases.
Can self-employment count?
Often not for FSW skilled work requirements. We review your history against current instructions.
Do I need a job offer?
Not for basic FSW eligibility, but arranged employment can add grid and CRS points when properly documented.
